Cynthia Adams danced in N.Y.C. in the 1980s working at the Performing Garage where the avant garde work of the Wooster Group and Spaulding Gray influenced her choreography while she completed a BA in Pre‐Dance Therapy from N.Y.U.  Her interest to deviate from the confines of tradition modern dance continued while she lived in Berlin, Germany where she studied and performed at the Tanzfabrik, influenced by Dieter Heitkamp in Contact Improvisation and Tanztheatre.  At that time her exploration integrating multi-media and performance lead her back to the U.S. where she completed an MA in Choreography/ Performance from the U.C.L.A.  In 1992 she helped form and become co-artistic director of Fellow Travelers Performance Group in the San Francisco Bay Area. FTPG received numerous awards, grants and residencies as well as performing nationally and internationally.  Adams draws on personal experience and integrates both theater and dance, balancing text and movement in thought provoking often whimsical choreography. Cynthia’s passion for movement has led to an interest in somatic practices and the mind/body connection. Cynthia is nationally certified to teach in both Pilates and Iyengar style yoga (RYT500 level). Ms. Adams is currently faculty at Iowa State University where she teaches choreography, modern dance, sound and movement, dance history, yoga, ballet and advises and choreographs for the dance company.

Constance Anderson, A recent Li Chiao-Ping Dance addition, graduated with a BA in Dance, as well as with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in May 2017. There she trained under Joan Karlen, Michael Estanich, Jeannie Hill, and Pamela Luedtke. While attending the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, Constance had the opportunity to participate in several workshops taught by Autumn Eckman, Larry Keigwin, Jaclyn Walsch, Brenda Bufalino, Tania Perez Salas, Max Pollack, Lucy Reiner, Mark Yonally, and Eddy Ocampo.  She also received several scholarships, taught a kinesthetic drawing masterclass, and presented research at the 2017 UW system symposium. She has had four of her works produced in Afterimages throughout her time at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. In 2016, her work, "I Can Move Mountains", was selected to be presented at the regional dance conference, ACDA. In addition, she recently studied under Whim W'Him dancer Patrick Kilbane, choreographer Kate Wallich, KT Nieff, and most closely with Alice Gosti. Constance also serves as a ballet instructor at Dance Education Center for pre-collegiate students. She serves as a rehearsal director for both the school,and also as the school's dance company. Most recently she has been performing solo work with local band,

Nicole Dagesse is a Vermont native whose rural upbringing in the forests and fields is a direct inspiration for her movement style and choreographic desires.  Through her dance company, Murmurations Dance, Nicole combines her training in Modern Dance, Contact Improvisation, and Aerial Dance and approaches each new site with inquisitive play and rigorous movement research.  Nicole earned her BFA in Dance and BS in Environmental Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst while also dancing with Wire Monkey Dance.  After several years dancing in the Boston area with Bennett Dance and BoSoma, Nicole felt it was time to continue her dance education as an artist and teacher, and moved to Boulder, Co. to pursue an MFA in Site Dance and Somatic Practices.  The rugged terrain and the endless blue skies provided the perfect opportunity to hone her voice as a site artist.  The grounding and balancing study of the Alexander Technique was a necessary complement to her physically demanding work, and Nicole was increasingly interested in the parallels between body and earth.  Since earning her Masters of Fine Arts, Nicole has completed her yoga teacher training through Tillai University, in Boulder Colorado specializing in Vinyasa Flow, Pre/postnatal, and Aerial Yoga.  Nicole currently lives with her family in Burlington, VT where she teaches dance at St. Michael's College, is the artistic director of Murmurations Dance, and teaches aerial yoga and aerial dance. 

Lauren Gibbs graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Dance from San Diego State University in 2010. After graduating she moved to New York where she practiced and performed under the direction of Kendra Portier, Dana Ruttenburg and Shen Wei Dance Arts. In 2012, she reclaimed her dancing roots in San Diego performing for The PGK Dance Project and San Diego Dance Theater's Trolley Dances.  She has also practiced with companies such as Doug Varone and Dancers and Joe Goode Performance Group.  Along with dancing for LCPD, Lauren has danced for Liz Sexe Dance Company in Madison. Her latest accomplishment includes earning a BA in Mathematics and Teaching License through Western Governors University.  Her experience stems from competitive gymnastics, modern, jazz, ballet and hip-hop dance. Lauren loves Madison and is thrilled to be a part of LCPD!

Ken James has been exploring movement as a way to uncork the spaces between conscious thought for the past three decades. James navigates the human experience in his stage and site-specific work, installation art, and screen dances by weaving subconscious patterns of thought, habits, and interactions of our creature into his choreography. In his quest for the magic in the mundane and the transcendent, he has found himself performing for audiences at the San Francisco Yerba Buena Center, dangling from ropes at a train station in Chicago, and dragging a 92 lb. log for 6 miles through the busy streets of Manhattan. Always evolving, James is creating a series of dance installations and dance films that will be presented in conjunction with site-specific performances. Once upon a time, James was the recipient of the famed Izzy Award for choreography for "The Adventures of Cunning & Guile"

Kelby Kryshak is a versatile drummer, composer, and creator.  After earning a degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Kelby relocated to Madison, WI where he has been a part of the local music scene for 10 years.  Aside from maintaining a full performance and gig schedule, he also spends five days a week improvising, live-looping, and drumming for modern, contemporary, and African dance classes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Kelby has fully immersed himself in the musical side of contemporary dance having performed collaborative live music scores for Jamie McHugh's restaged version of Anna Halprin's "Circle the Earth" as well Carol Teitelbaum’s restaging of Merce Cunningham’s  “MinEvent.”  With his involvement in the dance and movement community, he’s also had several commissions to collaborate as a composer, designing a variety of soundscapes and scores ranging from ambient to uptempo contemporary dance tracks.  Outside of his work with dance, Kelby can be seen performing locally and touring regionally with Nuggernaut, Jon Hoel Trio, Ted Keys Trio, Better Yeti, Wrenclaw, and the Handphibians.

Lyndsay Lewis, originally from Muskego, WI, graduated with a B.S. in Dance and a psychology major from UW in 2017. She has performed across the Midwest in Chicago, Madison, Detroit and Duluth, and internationally in Chepo, Panama, and Puebla, Mexico. Lyndsay has co-produced concerts, assisted guest artist Heidi Latsky, and performed with Chien Kuei Chang and Rosalind Newman, as well as faculty members Kate Corby, Collette Stewart and Jin-Wen Yu. She has studied at Strictly Seattle, Bates Dance Festival, Movement Research, and with Batsheva company members in Gaga. Lyndsay has presented her work at HH11 Dance Festival in Santa Barbara, CA, as well as at ACDA in Duluth, MN. Lyndsay presented her Senior Honors Concert “The Nature of Inhabiting Bodies” at Lathrop Hall. Her work, this digging reminds you, has been highlighted in the Montecito Journal and commended by the Santa Barbara Independent as “elbow thrusting and satisfyingly visceral.”  Lyndsay is the recipient of the 2017 UW Bookstore Academic Achievement Award, the Arts Institute’s Judson Undergraduate Award in the Creative Arts, as well as the Virginia Horne Henry Fund for Women’s Physical Education. Currently, Lyndsay is working as the General Manager for Li Chiao-Ping Dance, grant writing and doing publicity for other local choreographers, along with pursuing her 200-hour yoga certification, and freelance dancing in the Madison area.

Artistic Director Li Chiao-Ping, named by Dance Magazine as one of “25 to watch”, makes work for the stage, screen, and other sites, for dance companies, university dance programs, and individuals around the country. Ms. Li earned her Master of Arts degree from UCLA and was the Director of Dance at Hollins University and a faculty member at Mills College; she is currently on faculty at UW-Madison where she has previously served as Chair. Her work has been shown at national and international festivals such as Jacob’s Pillow, Bates, The Yard, Internacional Festival de Video Danza, and the AmericanDance Festival among others. Recipient of grants from the NEA and fellowships from the Wisconsin Arts Board and Scripps/ADF Humphrey-Weidman-Limon, and an Outstanding Woman of Color in Education Award, she is the subject of two documentaries and honored to be a Discovery Fellow at the WID and a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. She was part of ADF’s International Choreographer’s Program, was selected for the Fulbright Specialists Roster, and served as a Fulbright peer reviewer and McKnight Fellowship panelist. She was recently awarded a Vilas Research Professorship, one of the highest honors bestowed by the university and one of the first artists to ever receive one, and a prestigious MAP Fund grant for her project with visual artist Douglas Rosenberg LANDED. She is the creator of The Extreme Moves Training Method SM/TM.

Paula McArthur is owner and director of DanzArts Studio in Des Moines, Iowa. With over 30 years of teaching experience, and versatility in many forms of dance, Paula continues to perform for Fellow Travelers Performance Group (FTPG) with choreographers Ken James and Cynthia Adams. Additional modern companies she  has worked for: Pennsylvania Dance Theater, Hurley and Dancers, Sandance Neuman Project and choreographer Shawn Womack. Ms. McArthur began her professional career in ballet, performing with the Des Moines Ballet; she also trained at the Joffery Ballet School in NYC and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in Canada. Ms. McArthur earned her BFA from ISU where she turned her attention to modern dance, where she was honored with both the Anna R. Toman and Charlotte Wilkanson awards. She continued her study at the Bates Dance Festials, Doug Varone intensives and summer programs at NYU. She has worked, trained and/or performed for leading artists, including Bill T. Jones, Bill Young, Doug Elkins, Doug Varone, David Dorfmann, Claire Porter, Kathleen Hermsdorf, Rennie Harris, Larry Keigwin, and many more. Her secret to a happy marriage is to go weekly salsa dancing with her husband Reuben.

Mary Lynn Patterson is a University of Wisconsin-Madison Dance Department B.F.A. graduate and holds a Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Drexel University. She is a practicing dance/movement therapist, dance educator, and dance artist. A former company member of Philadanco, Mary performed works by Rennie Harris, George Faison, and Talley Beatty. As a dance artist, she has performed across the country and internationally on concert and pop music stages from the Kennedy Center to Madison Square Garden. In the fall of 2017 she returned to UW-Madison as a dance/movement therapist and outreach specialist for Performing Ourselves.

Nicole Roerick is a Dance Artist/Educator and a Yoga teacher. She has her MFA and BFA in Dance and multiple Yoga certifications and years of experience. She recently moved back to the U.S. after living abroad in Cairo, Egypt for the past 4 years where she was teaching Yoga and Dance. She went to the UW-Madison and also danced with Li Chiao-Ping Dance Company in years prior. This is her 4th summer teaching at the summer intensive and she looks forward for more to come!

Elisabeth Roskopf’s passion for dance began at age 6 and she has been dancing ever since.  She graduated with a BA in Piano and a minor in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2011.  She is a company member with Li Chiao-Ping Dance in Madison, Wisconsin as well as a guest artist with Danceworks Performance Company, Wild Space Dance Company, and an alumna of Catey Ott Dance Collective all in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Since the spring of 2014, Elisabeth has been performing in the Lake Arts Project, directed by Jennifer Miller and Karl von Rabenau of the Milwaukee Ballet.  Beginning in the Fall of 2015, and still ongoing, she choreographed and performed her solo works for MKE Follies and with Danceworks DanceLAB Get It Out There concert series.  In addition to her performing, she is also a dance teacher and a choreographer in the Greater Milwaukee area.

Natalia Schradle, MFA, LMT, CYT, CMA, is the founder and artistic director of ANAHATA Dance, focusing on site-specific performances.  Self-produced concerts include “Floating on Rooftops” that took place in, on, and near arts lofts in Redhook, Brooklyn; How It Is Infinite,” a full-length site-specific work, on Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn; and “Eno River Dances,” a hiking concert at Eno River State Park in Durham, NC. She is certified in Vinyasa, Prenatal, and Aerial Yoga; Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis; Reiki; Massage Therapy; and is pursuing Alexander Technique and Extreme Moves Certifications.  She is an adjunct faculty member at Old Dominion University and Christopher Newport University.

Liz Sexe is a dance educator, performer and choreographer/artistic director of Liz Sexe Dance Company. She performs both regionally and nationally with Li Chiao-Ping Dance Company, Marlene Skog and Dancers, and other local choreographers. She is described as a “clean and efficient mover,” and  having “toughness under her grace.” Her choreographic work has been featured at the World Dance Alliance Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii, University of Wisconsin—Madison, Danceworks in Milwaukee, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin in Spring Green, WI, and the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire where she was an artist in residence. In her process, tasks inspire poetic movement, game theory finds logical, yet often unexpected phrasing, and athletic dancing is paired with deep intentionality. Sexe received her MFA in Performance and Choreography from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Currently; she is a lecturer in UW-Madison's Dance Department. When Sexe is not dancing, she is a Pilates instructor at Pilates Central right on the square in Madison, WI.

Catey Ott Thompson, director of Catey Ott Dance Collective since 2005, has a BFA and MFA from UWM. She resides in Milwaukee after dancing in NYC for 14 years for Soundance, Heidi Latsky, Allyson Green, Sean Curran, Bill Young, Li Chiao-Ping, Eun Jung Choi, Aviva Geismar, Chris Ferris, Carrie Ahern, and others. Catey studied ballet with Christine Wright for 14 years and has been a personal trainer, yogi, and Pilates instructor since 2000.  Her company has performed all over NYC as well as in Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago.  She currently teaches contemporary modern, ballet, dance history, composition and choreography, and repertory as Marquette University, Milwaukee Ballet, and Danceworks and is a guest artist at Pius XI High School.

Megan Thompson is an active dance artist and educator. She has danced professionally in the Li Chiao-Ping Dance Company, the Maida Withers Dance Construction Company, RTG Dance and as an independent artist. Her own work has been presented in Chicago at Links Hall, New York City at the White Wave Festival, Washington, D.C. at the Jack Guidone Theater, Krasnoyarsk, Russia at the Isadora Festival and Norfolk, VA at The Chrysler Museum of Art and the NEON Festival. In 2009, she joined forces with Jen Stone and formed the Jen Stone and Megan Thompson Dance Project. Together they have taught master classes and performed in Chicago, Madison, WI, New York City, Richmond and internationally in Guatemala, Mexico and Scotland. She received her MFA in Dance from the University of Maryland and her BS in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds certifications in Pilates, yoga and Extreme Moves.  Currently, Megan is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Old Dominion University.
